WELCOME

OT MALAYSIA welcome you to this official website for Persatuan Terapi Carakerja Malaysia aka OT MALAYSIA. Occupational Therapy (Pemulihan Carakerja) is a profession concerned with promoting health and well being through occupation, hence this website aims to provide information, guidelines and network to our members to facilitate and enable them deliver high quality occupational therapy service.

The Malaysian Occupational Therapy Association (OT MALAYSIA) is a professional independent and non-political organization. Interest in the formation of the association started in the late sixties which led to its inauguration on 20 March 1969 with members who were all trained overseas mostly from Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and India. MOTA became a full member of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) in 1990 after the College of Occupational Therapists in Kuala Lumpur Hospital was accredited by WFOT and the Malaysian Public Services Department.

Viva :
Congratulations to Pn Tan Foo Lan and Pn Husna Ainuddin for coming this far.
Pray their viva on 4 July 2013 at 11 am (TFL) & at 12 noon (HAA) will run smoothly and pave way for next final step of candidature.

to En Izny for his acceptance by the Faculty of Medicine as a candidate for Master Med Sc. I am still waiting for Pn Mus, Ms Thipa and Pn Shadah's letter of acceptance. Hope they will all be accepted in Faculty of Medicine, UM

C2H (cancer to Health) - An NIH approved Intervention for cancer patients:
I am bringing in a protocol from Ohio University. They are interested in collaborating and ensuring this clinical program for cancer survivors is run succcessfully in Malaysia and elsewhere. They will support by monitoring from ohio, USA. Please pass the word and help me identify one interested hospital and OT to be trained. Can be any OT dept in any hospital in penisular Malaysia. Please alert any i) OT HEAD who is interested and ii)preferably their OT collegue who is interested to conduct the program as partrt of OT services, and iii) an OT with CGPA 3+ to evaluate the program as part of her/his Master or PhD study.
